What You’ll Do:

The Legal and Government Affairs team at CoreWeave is highly collaborative and partners closely with teams across the company to navigate complex legal landscapes while enabling innovation and growth. The team is pragmatic, solutions-oriented, and deeply engaged in strategic decision-making, with a strong emphasis on building trusted relationships across the organization.

As Senior Counsel, Employment, you will independently own a broad portfolio of U.S. employment matters, employment disputes, and strategic projects, with selective cross-border coordination where U.S. issues intersect with global programs. You will provide practical, business-minded advice, build scalable employment-law processes and documents, and exercise sound judgment about when to move independently and when to consult or escalate. If you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, enjoy solving complex problems, and are eager to make a significant impact, CoreWeave is the place for you.

About the role:

Reporting to the Senior Managing Associate General Counsel, Employment, you will advise on the full employment lifecycle for CoreWeave’s U.S. workforce and take meaningful ownership of U.S. employment disputes, compliance initiatives, and transactional matters. You will partner closely with People—including HRBPs, Employee Relations, People Operations, Benefits/Total Rewards, Talent Acquisition, and Mobility—and collaborate with stakeholders across Legal, Payroll, Accounting, Tax, Corporate Development, and Insider Risk. You will also work closely with CoreWeave’s regional employment counsel on cross-border matters and global programs, while supporting selected broader company disputes and strategic projects as needs arise.

In this Role You Will:

  • Provide day-to-day and strategic advice on a broad range of U.S. employment matters, including recruiting and hiring, employment agreements, performance management, workplace investigations and employee relations, leaves and accommodations, terminations and separations, restructurings, compensation and benefits, wage and hour and worker classification, restrictive covenants, work authorization and mobility, and other employee-lifecycle issues.
  • Manage employment disputes and pre-litigation matters and support selected broader company disputes from early case assessment through resolution, including fact development, exposure and strategy assessment, litigation holds and preservation, discovery/eDiscovery, outside-counsel strategy, settlement, trial preparation, and internal reporting.
  • Provide timely, business-focused recommendations that balance legal risk with operational objectives, identify jurisdiction-specific issues, and exercise sound judgment regarding consultation and escalation.
  • Build trusted partnerships with People and business stakeholders and translate legal analysis into clear, practical guidance that enables sound decisions.
  • Draft, review, interpret, and improve employment policies, agreements, and other workforce documentation, with a focus on consistency and scalability.
  • Monitor relevant statutes, regulations, case law, agency guidance and enforcement developments, and proactively surface material changes, trends, and practical implications to Legal, People, and business partners.
  • Identify recurring legal or operational issues and build scalable frameworks, workflows, templates, playbooks, SOPs, training, and processes rather than addressing recurring matters only case by case.
  • Partner with regional employment counsel on cross-border matters and company-wide programs that affect the U.S. workforce, including mobility, global policies, and transaction-related issues.
  • Support the management of U.S. outside counsel by coordinating requests, reviewing work product, translating advice to practical recommendations; and escalating recommendations as appropriate.
  • Support employment aspects of M&A and other strategic transactions, including diligence, risk assessment, transaction-related employment documentation, retention or other workforce arrangements, and post-close implementation, while coordinating with regional employment counsel on non-U.S. issues.

Who You Are:

  • 6+ years of relevant employment-law and litigation experience.
  • Meaningful experience advising a multi-state U.S. workforce, including identifying state and local differences, translating legal requirements into practical guidance, and coordinating with specialized outside counsel as needed.
  • Demonstrated experience managing employment disputes and litigation, including pre-litigation demands or agency matters, internal investigations, discovery/preservation, settlement strategy, and outside counsel.
  • Experience gained through a combination of law-firm and in-house roles, or equivalent experience demonstrating strong legal training and practical business judgment; meaningful in-house experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. employment law and experience applying legal principles across U.S. jurisdictions and to novel or evolving business situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently own moderately complex and appropriate complex employment matters while exercising sound judgment regarding consultation and escalation.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to communicate with varied audiences, collaborate across functions, and build trusted relationships with People and business leaders.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment with incomplete information, shift between competing priorities, and make practical judgment calls that keep work moving.
  • Strong problem-solving and business judgment, including the ability to assess legal and practical risk, identify viable options, and recommend a path forward.
  • Excellent drafting, written and verbal communication, legal interpretation, and research skills, including the ability to produce clear, concise and decision-useful work product.
  • A commitment to professional conduct, high-quality execution, and appropriate attention to detail under time pressure.
  • Ability to balance legal risk against business objectives, provide clear and practical recommendations, and recognize when broader alignment or escalation is warranted.
  • Experience scoping, managing, and critically evaluating outside counsel, including employment litigators and state/local specialists, with a focus on practical advice and efficient spend.
  • J.D. degree and active membership in good standing in at least one U.S. state bar.
  • Experience supporting employment aspects of M&A, organizational changes, or other strategic transactions, and a track record of building or improving scalable policies, processes, or playbooks

Preferred:

  • Experience at a global high-growth technology, AI/cloud-infrastructure, or publicly traded company.
  • Experience coordinating cross-border employment matters or global workforce programs with regional employment counsel, including mobility, global policies, or transaction-related issues.
  • Experience supporting selected non-employment litigation or broader legal workstreams in addition to core employment matters
